What an emotional roller coaster… what you ordered vs what you got 🙃

What a fun little unboxing this was! Accompanied by all my little "tsk", "oh's" and sighs... 🫠

I’m stepping back into the world of sharing my life on social media again after a +5 year hiatus after some wild happenings, that more or less left me shut down to being open online. So as exciting as it is to be back? There’s definitely a level of nervousness that comes along with it.

I’ve lived a very private life the last 5-6 years and so putting it out there to make a calendar with some of my favourite photos, of some beautiful places I’ve been able to explore in 2025 feels quite intimate.

Each place in this calendar holds some element of emotional intimacy for me, and I already know I’m going to make another for 2027.

Thank you to those who purchased! I felt the love and a little bit of shooketh-ness when I realized I sold out of the entire order before they even arrived.

I hope you enjoy them on your walls as much as I enjoyed putting this together!

We're calling on the community - local creatives wanted! 🎶🎨

Applications open just in time for Christmas! This is for a small mini web-series celebrating local musicians, artists, and makers, led by your local Mirjana Wright! Production will be starting in the new year.

This is a community-led spotlight on Niagara talent - the people making cool things right here, often quietly, and often without enough eyes on their work. The goal is simple: share real stories, showcase local creativity, and keep it visible in our region.

The filming of this mini web-series will be shared freely across all Roots n Routes Media platforms to spotlight our local creatives and spark curiosity, with audio also released as a podcast. Full episodes and extended interviews will be available through a member subscription, which directly supports the ongoing production of this community-led series.

crystal clear waters are tropical looking. They are
quite refreshing though, don't let the colours fool you - they
can be quick to take your breath away

it's slower with tourists. The views are still stunning in the
cooler months and if your brave, the water is inviting!

Achmelvich Beach has pay parking and a short walk from
the car park down to the beach, free range sheep along the
hillside and some cute walking trails to explore along either
side of the beach itself.

Cathedral Cave, an impressive cave hiding right in the hillside. One you wouldn't know is there unless you're looking for it and would have quite the shock stumbling upon it while walking through the hillside.

With multiple levels, viewpoints and tunnels throughout the slate hills - standing beside the cavern is almost daunting when looking up to the high vaulted ceiling and then peering down to the bottom of the cave below.

The magic in these woods.. you can almost hear the trees speaking to one another as you walk through their paths. Feel the eyes of the little ones watching you as you pick up fallen leaves and touch the smooth rocks of the stone spiral.

Welcome to King Arthur's Cave, in England - a name not necessarily pertaining to having connection with the King himself.. it has lore of legendary King Vortigern using it, who was a native British King fighting the invading Anglo-Saxons.

Or it could also just be a name lost in translation, as "Deu Arth" was the old Welsh name for the hil fort which eventually became "Relating to Arthur".

What we do know? It's an ancient woods worth the visit.

There was a storm on its way in while I was walking through the forest, the birds in masses diving into the treetops in a syncronistic kind of way - up and down, up and down. The colours of the sky a blend of reds, pinks and purples - like that you'd find on an artists palette. The wind was wild with each gust stronger than the one before and the trees, the trees swaying in it as if they were dancing under the sky and bending to the will of the wind as the sky grew darker and then the rains came.

It was beautiful. Meanwhile, I was parked in my vehicle under the canopy, questioning just how much the trees would bend to the wind. Hearing voices flitting along the breeze - not quite earthly, but not entirely in my dreams..they sounded like those moments between being asleep and waking up. They kept me company throughout the night while I was tossing and turning while looking up above as the branches and leaves moved like a million little pieces, yet also as one. And just as dawn was about to break - the stars made an unexpected appearance as the colours of the sunrise took over the sky.
